Cambridge
Cambridge is most widely known as the home of the University of Cambridge founded in 1209, which has been consistently ranked one of the top five universities in the world. The University dominates the city with its 31 colleges, 18,000 students and over 9,000 staff. The most popular way to get around the city is to cycle, with over a quarter of residents riding a bike to work every day. In the summer, you could try a punting tour – sitting on a boat while someone stands behind you, pushing a pole onto the bottom of the river to push the boat along. It’s a great way to see this beautiful city and is ideal for anyone looking for student accommodation in Cambridge.
Fun fact: The first ever game of football was played in Cambridge in 1848.
