Honouring a Life of Dedication and Care to the International Education Sector Peter Brown, was not only a leader in bringing homestay accommodation to the forefront of our industry — he was a man of deep integrity, warmth and laughter, and quiet strength. His dedication to work, belief in Homestays adding value to a students journey, quality standards, belief in people and loyalty and meaningful cross-cultural experiences helped shape the values our company continues to uphold.
The Peter Brown Homestay Excellence Award Each year, we will recognise exceptional host families who embodies the care, reliability, and heart Peter believed every student deserved. This award will highlight hosts who go above and beyond in making international students feel safe, welcomed, and supported — often in ways that go unnoticed but make all the difference.
Nominations are accepted annually and reviewed by our internal team based on criteria and feedback, with input from our partners. The selected host will receive a certificate, a small thank-you gift, and recognition across our platforms.
In collaboration with our trusted partners, we will offer a select number of free or subsidised homestay places each year in Peter’s name.These will be awarded to students from underrepresented backgrounds or those in financial hardship, giving them the opportunity to experience a safe and enriching stay in the UK or Ireland — something Peter strongly believed in.
A Commitment to Empowerment Peter believed in fairness and giving people a chance — especially women and young professionals. His quiet feminism showed in how he supported his wife, daughter and close colleagues to grow and lead.
As part of his legacy, we remain committed to providing mentorship, training, and visibility to women across the international education and homestay sectors. This is embedded in our company culture, hiring practices, and our broader legacy commitments.
